LET'S GO PHILS!

I mean I am really not a sports fan. (or shall I say PHAN) :P but even I can get into the world series when the Phillies are playing!! I was watching last night and it was actually fun to watch! Who knew? Normally it is kind of boring! (ok, really boring)

Philly is going to go CRAZZZZZY if we win tonight... holllly crap.

the headaches

have been really, really bad lately. It's like I am back at square one and never got any better. I don't know what happened but all the many medications I am on to prevent them are not working and the many medicines they give me to treat them when I get them (which is every day) are also not working which means I have them all the time. It is absolutely awful and leaving me basically miserable and not sure what to do. I made a new appointment with the headache center in Philly and I am guessing they are gonna switch my meds. Not sure what happens cause for a while, I was definitely doing better. Down to 3 a week and they were treatable headaches. But it is really discouraging to know that it worked for only about 6-8 months total and we are switching medications. I can't do that for my whole life-- we run out of meds. I don't know what to do.

just hanging out

Today I spent the day visiting Bill's new niece (adorable!!) and then I went and visited my new friend Maria and we watched Sex and the City (the movie). I have never been a big watcher of the tv show but I really enjoyed the movie! It was quite long but I thought it was really good! =) Unfortunately my headaches have been worse than normal lately and I have also been feeling sleepier than normal lately so this weekend may be me catching up on sleep and just doing some laundry. I may try and see D if I can at some point and do stuff around the house. Besides that, I have an appointment with a career counselor on tuesday! Yea! =)

Volunteering for Obama

Today I went to the Delaware offices for Obama and spent 4 hours doing data entry to help the campaign. I didn't have the guts to do phone calls. It was neat to be there though because it was a very positive environment. They said they are not calling people to change anyone's mind. If you are already made up your mind and are voting for McCain, they thank you for voting and say have a nice day. They try to get volunteers and reach people who are supporters or undecided. I met a girl there who came in to do data entry and we ended up watching the debate together at her house. Yea for meeting new people! =)

As for the debate, McCain looked like he could barely control himself during some of those bits. He just kept going on and on about the campaign styles and stupid shit instead of focusing on what was HE gonna do for the U.S. That's where I think he loses sight of the point. I will give him credit to say that he did make some good points. Still, in this as in all the other debates, I didn't have any question where my vote was going (and you know too by the title of this post). :p

wasps and stinkbugs

I have found my house infested with some unwanted bugs. Every fall we get stinkbugs so this isn't new. There are many times up to 20 a day in the house for about six weeks or so and then they are gone. When they fly, they make this really loud buzzing and fly into things. I absolutely hate it so I smack as many as I can. Well now, right around the skylight, I started to see wasps. About 3-5 per day. I say per day cause I usually kill the ones from each day so I know its a new 3-5 each day. How do I kill a wasp successfully? Thanks to google, via a magazine and some hairspray. It scares the bejesus out of me that they hang out so close to me (the skylight is actually right in the cieling right by the computer). I had a pest inspector come out and when we were watching, he thought he actually saw one crawl in a corner so he thinks there may be a small hole around the edge. (big sigh) He said this may be worse in the spring when they are breeding and building nests. HELP! I think I am going to have to first find out if there is a hole and if so, fix it. Then I may need to spray. :/

TT 2

Thursday Thirteen numero dos...

Thirteen tv shows I watched at some point when they aired:

1) Friends -- Still a favorite and I will watch the reruns now!!
2) Full House -- Definitely back when I was much younger although still amusing now at times
3) Saved by the Bell (and SBTB the College Years) -- gotta love those shows!
4) Family Matters -- back when both this and Full House were on TGIF
5) Just the Ten of Us -- another one that used to be on TGIF
6) Perfect Strangers -- yea for Balki!
7) Will and Grace
8) Golden Girls -- this one I am pretty sure I watched only in reruns tho
9) My So-Called Life -- boy did I love this show... I mean love. I felt like I identified with this show like no other show ever.
10) Hey Dude -- found exclusive on Nickelodeon about 17 years ago, I was addicted to this show for the 2 or so years it was on!
11) Joey -- that was short lived.
12) Dawson's Creek
13) Fresh Prince of Bel Air -- I love this show!!

ahh, good old commercials

Count on the good old American media to come up with marketing based on our failied economy!!

The commercial I just saw:

"It's one thing to bail out wall street...

But who's gonna bail you out?!

Denny's!! (as they show a giant pic of pancakes and sausage)"

Yep-- that saved me! :p

Debate 2

First of all, if McCain addressed us all as "My Friends" one more time, I think I was gonna shoot myself. He spent very little time talking about what he was actually going to do and most of his time attempting to slam Obama. And did anyone notice him "walking" around the room? Lauren noted that she was afraid he was definitely hobbeling. As she said, we need a younger, stronger looking president right now. Obama's tax policy was simple and it made sense. McCain's ideas for healthcare reform literally scared the crap out of me. And the rest of the time all he did was sling shit and throw around more of "my friends." If this didn't sell you on Obama... hell.

presidential debate 2

So I missed the first but the second one is tuesday night and I will be interested in seeing it. I definite found the VP one interesting and would really like to hear these 2 speak as I haven't heard all that much of it yet. Hard to believe that we have less than a month til our fate is decided. Please, please, please go and vote... but only if you are voting for obama. :p

meeting planner position

So I found a meeting planner position to apply to! In case anyone is keeping track, it is now over six and a half months of looking for a job. (oof) This one is in the city and while they would prefer someone who is a certified meeting planner (which I am not), I figured what harm is it to give it a shot! It is definitely the position I am looking for!

VP debate

So I expected the VP debate to be actually entertaining because I thought Biden would just knock Palin out of the water. Well I have to say that I think Palin can hold her own pretty well. Don't get me wrong... I still plan on voting Obama-- she didn't convince me of anything. She definitely got on my nerves tho with her constant claims that Biden was talking about the past (bush administration) and that she was talking about the future. I have to say I agreed fully with Biden when I want to hear what is going to be actually different than now. It isn't the past quite yet as we are still experiencing it and still under Bush and empty promises are worth crap.

Now is a fine time to remember that if the popular vote (which just plain makes sense) ruled, we wouldn't be in this mess to begin with. Big old sigh.

I have to give Palin credit though... 5 kids... one with downs... I wouldn't even have the energy to put on matching clothes let alone address the country.

I miss the pink ribbon bagel

So Panera used to have the pink ribbon bagel in the month of October which would donate a percentage of proceeds to breast cancer research. It was really yummy and in the shape of the ribbon!! I was saddened to find out that this bagel no longer exists. Boo on panera. They have it now (it's still seasonal) but have changed the name to the "cherry vanilla" bagel which is plain old ROUND (how uncreative) and gives all money to panera! whee!! Somehow, it just didn't taste the same.

Thursday Thirteen!!

13 reasons I miss summer and a few why I like fall
1-- shorts and tanks tops!!
2-- the beach!

Welcome to Post 1!

This is my public blog! As I have a private blog for every minor relationship and job detail and am very cautious about everything that goes on it, I wanted a public blog for everything else that can get shared to the web and read by everyone. When I meet new friends and feel comfortable with them, I would love to invite you to read my private blog where you will then notice you can probably stop reading the public blog as at least in the beginning, I will be doing overlapping posts. That is, anything that is in this blog, goes in the private blog. But posts that are for the private blog only, will clearly not be in here. I also miss doing thursday thirteen... sooo that is what this blog is for as well. Hopefully I will be able to get another template for this blog... but for now, here it is. =)
